BOOK CREATORS CLUB

First, let’s choose your designated writing spot!

BOOK CREATORS CLUB

Once you create your writing alter ego, you will have unlocked all of the writing superpowers that you want.

BOOK CREATORS CLUB

You never know what will inspire your next great story idea.

BOOK CREATORS CLUB

Think about a time you really wanted to find something and you had to face a challenge to get what you wanted and someone helped you do it.

BOOK CREATORS CLUB

Even a story about the most normal day can become a hero’s journey adventure, especially if you add a double scoop of imagination.

BOOK CREATORS CLUB

Discover the ingredients that make up every great story and easily use them to create your own epic adventure through an almost fill in the blank formula.

BOOK CREATORS CLUB

The first ingredient to think about is the main character, also known as the protagonist.

BOOK CREATORS CLUB

In this lesson we will discover the crucible or major problem that is preventing the main character from getting their core desire.

BOOK CREATORS CLUB

In this lesson we’ll be exploring the world where your story takes place.

BOOK CREATORS CLUB

In this lesson we will be uncovering the triggering event that inspires your character to action.

BOOK CREATORS CLUB

In this lesson we will be meeting the other characters that your main character meets along their journey and who help shape the story.

BOOK CREATORS CLUB

In this lesson we will be bringing all the ingredients together in the form of a story premise statement.

BOOK CREATORS CLUB

Welcome to Module 3: Create Your Story Roadmap. In this module we’re going to learn how to organize your ingredients on a story arc and then create a simple chapter outline and storyboard that make writing your story a breeze.

BOOK CREATORS CLUB

Now that you’ve brainstormed your story ingredients and premise statement, we are going to organize those ingredients along a story arc, or as we like to think of it, a story mountain.

BOOK CREATORS CLUB

Much like a map, a chapter outline can tell you where to go with your story.

BOOK CREATORS CLUB

Now we’re going to take another approach to mapping out our story by creating a storyboard.

BOOK CREATORS CLUB

We’re going to have a quick chat about giving and receiving feedback so you can experience some peer review for your chapter outline.

BOOK CREATORS CLUB

Welcome to Module 4: Bring Your Story To Life - Write the first draft of your story with confidence and without the pressure of making it perfect.

BOOK CREATORS CLUB

The first thing that can help prepare us for the writing stage is to come up with a writing plan.

BOOK CREATORS CLUB

Before we get into the specifics of how to write your first draft, let’s talk about some general tips and tricks for getting into the writing flow and overcoming writer’s block.

BOOK CREATORS CLUB

Now that you have your writing plan and you know tips and tricks for staying in writing flow, let’s do a quick review of some story writing fundamentals.

BOOK CREATORS CLUB

This is your chance to look over my shoulder as I walkthrough how to use the chapter outline to create your first draft.

BOOK CREATORS CLUB

Welcome back! We’re now on Module 5: Level Up Your Story - Where we’ll transform your story from good to great by following our unique leveling up framework.

BOOK CREATORS CLUB

The first leveling up area to focus on is the overall story including story ingredients, story arc, and character arc.

BOOK CREATORS CLUB

Now that we’ve upgraded most of the story ingredients and the story arc, let’s focus on leveling up your descriptive language.

BOOK CREATORS CLUB

Now that we’ve worked on leveling up the story structure and flow, let’s upgrade our story, and especially our characters, through the Show, Don’t Tell Method.

BOOK CREATORS CLUB

We’re now on the second to last leveling up stage - where we’ll upgrade our writing through literary devices.

BOOK CREATORS CLUB

This is the fifth and final area of leveling up: where we’ll review the story fundamentals and check for things like spelling and grammar mistakes.

BOOK CREATORS CLUB

We’re now on Module 6: Create Your Epic Book - Where we’ll turn your story into a real book.

BOOK CREATORS CLUB

The first thing to do in order to transform your story into a book, is to come up with a title for your story.

BOOK CREATORS CLUB

Next on the book creating list - you get to choose your author name to take credit for your story!

BOOK CREATORS CLUB

Now that you have your book title (or at least working title) and your author name, let’s work on creating your book cover!

BOOK CREATORS CLUB

Now we’ll think about the interior images or illustrations. However, this is completely optional - your book does NOT need to have images.

BOOK CREATORS CLUB

The front matter just means the first few pages at the front of the book that come before the main text of the story. These include the title page, copyright page, dedication page, and contents page.

BOOK CREATORS CLUB

The back matter, are the pages at the back of the book after the main text of the story. The most important of these back matter pages is the About the Author Page.

BOOK CREATORS CLUB

After a reader has decided they like a book cover, they will often look at the book description to learn more about the book.

BOOK CREATORS CLUB

We’re in the final stage - publishing and sharing!
